The photokina and the Wedding Zone 2018 in Cologne were our highlights of the year – here is a short recap.
The idea:
photokina 2018 was set up to be a unique experience for us. Our goal was to use the opportunity to meet new customers and build strong relationships. However, we wanted to do it in the most pleasant way possible. To achieve this, the Wedding Zone 2018 in hall 4.2 in Cologne was created.
Partners & setup
Together with koelnmesse/photokina and other partner companies such as Sony, Profoto, Capture One, nphoto, and FLORICOLOR, we created the Wedding Zone – a distinct area at the fair as a focus area for wedding photography during the five days. This was achieved by a unique set up of the stands. The companies were placed around a center stage, the booth design was very open, and additionally, the Wedding Zone had a socializing area.

At our open trade fair stand, we welcomed numerous guests who were both existing and new customers. Our account managers were able to clarify multiple questions but also got praise and detailed feedback. Of course, they also had one or the other special offer up their sleeves!
The program
Additionally, we wanted to offer visitors added value – thin included a comprehensive program with exciting speakers and topics. In addition to our friends Carmen & Ingo, Laura Möllemann, and Hannah L., we welcomed international guests on stage as well. Among others, Two Mann Studios, Nordica Photography, Yannick Zurflüh, and Roberto Valenzuelawere present. We were delighted about the popularity of all of the presentations! Industry representatives also had their time to shine. Therefore, our managing director Hezikiah des Souza was interviewed.

The Meetup
As if this wasn’t enough – almost traditionally, we brought the “German Wedding Meetup” into the Wedding Zone. The industry meeting with 450 wedding photographers and other service providers already took place during photokina in the Offenbach Hall in 2016.
During one evening after trade fair hours, happy hour with beer and other drinks flowed. There were snacks and, of course, a lot of networking among like-minded people. WiMaMo and DJ Einfach Freddy took the night away as entertainment with their musical talent – great memories.
The conclusion:
photokina and Wedding Zone 2018 in Cologne were definitely among the highlights of 2018. We rarely had the opportunity to talk with so many existing and new customers, as well as to meet partners and friends in such a relaxed environement.
